What are the signs and symptoms?

  • Excessive snoring
  • Gasping during sleep
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Morning headaches
  • Not feeling refreshed
  • Sore throat in the morning

Left untreated, Obstructive Sleep Apnea is associated with a decreased quality of life as it may cause excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue, morning headaches, but also because it is related to serious medical conditions such as heart diseases. The good news is, there is treatment for OSA and our trained professionals can help.

Assess your risk

Simply complete these 2 questionnaires to assess your risk for Sleep Apnea and validate your eligibility for a Medicare funded sleep study with your doctor

What to do if you think you have Sleep Apnea

Step 1: Download referral

A signed referral from your doctor is required to undertake a home sleep test.

Step 2: Speak to your GP

Make an appointment with your GP. They will be familiar with sleep apnea, can assess your symptoms and refer you to us for a home sleep test.

Medicare covers the cost of the diagnostic test if you satisfy criteria defined in the MBS guidelines for sleep studies. Your GP will advise you about this when completing the referral.

Step 3: Contact our Sleep Clinic Team

Once you have your referral form filled in by your GP, be sure to get in contact with our sleep clinic team by either coming into our Palmerin Street store or giving us a call.

We will give you all the information you need about how to undertake a sleep study in the comfort of your own home.

What does an Oxygen Concentrator do?

An oxygen concentrator is a device used by people who experience breathing difficulties and require additional help and support to maintain oxygen levels inside their body. The concentrator is a unit that uses the ambient air around you to provide you with a pulse flow of concentrated oxygen to boost the efficiency of each of your breaths.

Typically, these kinds of units are designed for use for people who are experiencing the symptoms of emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD, or whose lung health otherwise requires support in getting the most from each breath.

An oxygen concentrator is a piece of machinery normally recommended by a medical professional such as your GP. It is unwise to purchase a unit without medical advice and ongoing support to provide you with the information you need to maximise the efficiency of your personal unit.

We are working in conjunction with Air Liquide Healthcare to bring Warwick, Stanthorpe and surrounds an easily accessible Sleep Apnea Clinic.
